4. How Our Lady and the Apostles received Holy Communion
Most Rev. Juan Rodolfo Laise, author of the book, “Communion In The Hand: Documents And History” expresses the conviction that the Gospel of John, the writings of the Fathers, and also the Syrian “purple codex” of Rossano (5th century) all demonstrate that Jesus gave Communion to the Apostles on the tongue.
Our Lady revealed to a mystic that she always received holy Communion kneeling and on the tongue; just like Catholics receive in the Traditional Latin Mass even to this day. Therese Neumann, 1962 (stigmata) lived only on the Consecrated Host for some 35 years and also saw Jesus distribute the bread into the mouths of the Apostles. Anne Catherine Emmerich, 1824 (stigmatist) considered the most famous of all German mystics, saw Jesus distribute the bread into the mouths of the Apostles. She also revealed that during the Agony in the garden, Christ is shown all the ingratitude, the sacrileges, the blasphemies and the negligence that will be committed against Him in the Holy Eucharist.
Sr. Agnes Sasagawa of Akita, Japan, 1973 (stigmatist and visionary): While her Sisters were all receiving Holy Communion in their hands, the stigmata of her left hand forced it shut with horrible pain, and she was therefore forced to receive Jesus on the tongue. At the same instant the wound in the right hand of the wooden statue of Our Lady bled from the identical spot. Could these sufferings respectively have been reparation for the abuses in the left hands of the laity and the right hands of Priests? Of course. Since then Sr. Agnes and all her Sisters received Holy Communion only on the tongue.
Our Lady, the Apostles and the Saints had always received their Lord only on the tongue, with the utmost piety, humility and reverence. We Catholics are to imitate Our Lady, the Apostles and the Saints but out of ignorance and blind obedience we follow the traditions of fallen men, when we receive the Bread of Life in the hand, as if it is some ordinary bread.
